The fact that you can bring your children with you is a bonus and they will often be found trying or the activities or "helping" you with yours. Classes are fun and I am so glad to have found such an amazing place to exercise. I've been going there for just over 3 years and couldn't be happier with my fitness journey!”

“I've just started with Active Mum a few weeks back and I am BLOWN away that my life long back pain is finally gone, I have 4 young kids and to be able to just bring whichever kid I have with my that day is super helpful. I like that it's indoors and I can go rain, hail or shine and get expert training and advice every time. The classes are super extensive and I've learnt so so much!! Never looking back. Thankyou Active Mum.”

“I've been going to Active Mum for 2.5 years and love it. It really is unique in offering a safe, supportive and fun environment to exercise with or without kids before, during and after pregnancy. It's a great community of women committed to health but also always up for a laugh. I've made wonderful friends and I've never been fitter in my life! Highly recommend!”

FAQ’S

I have abdominal separation, pelvic floor weakness or prolapse, are these classes suitable for me?

Yes, yes and yes! All of our programs are written specifically with these things in mind. Not only are our programs are safe for you to do, they are specialised in this area so we can directly help you recover and rebuild your body and get you back to full function. Our programs are the gold standard for working with Abdominal Separation, Pelvic Floor Weakness, Prolapse, and Pelvic Pain. We can also work closely with your Women's Health Physio to further tailor your program. At Active Mum we pride ourself on being able to work with any injury you may have.

I am pregnant, can I attend classes other than the pregnancy ones?

Our timetable includes multiple pregnancy classes - But you can also attend ANY other class on our timetable, as we have pregnancy safe modifications written into every class plan.

Can I bring my baby, toddler, child and what do they do?

Yes, our Mum & Bub programs & studios are designed so you can bring your baby, toddler/ child with you and they are part of the program! It's a nice time for both mum and the little ones. The toddlers and children will generally join in and copy what you are doing. They might also play with the other children or just cruise around the studio doing their own thing.
With babies, if they are asleep they can be parked next to where you are working out.
If your baby likes being in a baby carrier, you can do the entire class with your bub in a carrie. If your baby is unsettled and just needs holding, we will show you how to do the exercises while holding them. Whatever your little one does on the day, we will work around it. That is the beauty of Active Mum, it's an all inclusive environment and we understand that babies and children have unsettled days.

How soon after birth can I start?

You can start anytime after your bub is 6 weeks old and/or you have had your 6 week check up with your doctor.

My kids are older, is Active Mum still for me?

Of course, Active Mum is for any mum and any women. We have some members who attend our programs and they do not have children, and we have some ladies that come and they have adult children. It's about providing a nurturing, and safe environment where women can come together and work on feeling fit, strong, healthy, happy and energised without judgement.

Can I bring more than one child?

You certainly can, many of the mums in our village bring more than one child.

I have not exercised in a long time, is this ok?

YES! We are the perfect place to get back into exercise. At Active Mum we cater for all levels and abilities. Our programs are written so that someone that has not exercised in a long time can get an amazing, safe and personal workout, as can someone that is very fit and has been coming for a long time. We cater for for all abilities, injuries and conditions. We will help you to feel comfortable exercising again and monitor your technique closely so you are kept safe.

Can I attend classes without my baby or child?

Oh yes. If you have baby/ child free time you certainly can still attend any of our Mum & Bub classes. Bub is not compulsory.

Can I bring my children to the evening/ early morning classes?

These classes are set down as Mum time. It is preferred that children don't come to these sessions. We understand that these might be the only classes you can attend and you don't have anyone to look after your little ones. If this is the case, they can come along to class and they can sit quietly on the chairs or in the pram. We just don't have the children running around the room or participating at these times.
